I had an unbelievably fun time with Sarah, Jacob and their family and friends at their recent wedding. The whole shebang was held at Leaves&Fishes in Lovedale, on a stunning spring day.
My favourite moments of the day: weeding a random spot of bushland so Sarah wouldn’t get sticky beak seeds in her dress; the adorable pageboy tipping out the flowergirl’s basket of petals even before they started walking down the aisle; the tear on Jacob’s cheek when he saw his bride walking towards him; THE SUIT (you’ll know what I’m talking about when you see it…normally I award Best Dressed Guest to a woman but this time it’s a man!); and the hilarious speeches – and the bonus birthday cake for Sarah’s brother, and the tradition in her family of singing happy birthday by singing any other song at all.
Oh, and taking selfies in the bathroom with two of the bridesmaids. Cos that’s how we (toilet paper) roll!
[Can I just take a moment to gush again at how much I love working with the Leaves & Fishes team? I’ve shot a few weddings at their sister venue, Black Creek Farm, and everything runs as smooth as silk. FLAWLESS SERVICE, people. Have your wedding there! And hire me to shoot it, because I think they rock AND their food is just…hang on, let me wipe the drool off my chin.]
